Faculty of Clinical Informatics Professional Interest Groups

The FCI have established Professional Interest Groups to assure that the strategy and decisions taken about professional policy for the FCI are aligned to the varying professions within the Faculty, as well as to be a respected and recognised national voice for informatics in each profession.

FCI Professional Interest Groups provide the opportunity to:

  • Bring together the FCI membership of each profession for peer support and networking

  • Contribute to the work of the Faculty, ensuring that the wide ranging interests and priorities of each profession are reflected in its key aims and work plan

  • Establish expert views and opinions on specific topics and provide representation on SIGs and other groups

  • Provide expert input into the development of national standards

  • Offer professional expertise and guidance to FCI in developing educational opportunities

  • Raise the profile of clinical informatics work in each profession

  • Grow the number of members within the Faculty from underrepresented professions

  • All FCI members of the relevant profession are invited to join a Professional Interest Group

  • Each group aims to have a core leadership team of around 4-5 who will determine core activity and communication mechanisms for the group (with FCI secretariat support), agree the Terms of Reference and agree the Terms of Reference

  • Groups aim to meet at least quarterly
