The Faculty has been providing expert consultancy services to a range of stakeholders since its inception, acting as a well-trusted organisation to deliver high quality outputs matched to the clients’ specific requirements.

We’ve been delighted to see these services expand more and more so that we are now looking to recruit a Lead to oversee the programme of activity and take it forwards.

The Global Medical Device Nomenclature (GMDN) is the international standard for the naming and grouping of medical devices. It is used by governments, manufacturers and hospitals to improve the management of medical device information.

The GMDN is managed by the GMDN Agency (a registered charity) which wants to recruit a Nomenclature Developer / Term Author to join the team responsible for communicating with medical device manufacturers, authoring GMDN descriptions (Terms), and developing conceptual medical device groups, amongst other things.

Assistant Health Informatician

BMJ Knowledge Centre is recruiting a health informatician who will play a significant role in enabling the intelligent application of our clinical decision support (CDS) content.

You will be responsible for the practical delivery of BMJ Knowledge Centre informatics strategy by developing, maintaining, improving and monitoring the use of machine interpretable CDS content and metadata. You will also be responsible for clinical terminology database maintenance. As part of the role you will be expected to identify areas for improvement and development to ensure the accuracy and reliability of BMJ’s CDS metadata.

The ideal candidate will have practical experience of clinical terminologies covering diseases, and medication and their use in clinical systems in order to support BMJ with the integration of CDS content into the clinical workflow. They will have a demonstrable interest in CDS and a flair for developing novel technical approaches to manipulate data and content.
